Bar Brawl Leads to Shooting at Wagon Wheel in Niagara Falls

A late-night altercation at a Niagara Falls Boulevard bar ended in gunfire early Sunday leaving a 32-year-old man hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the foot.
According to reports, officers were called to the Wagon Wheel on the 7200 block of Niagara Falls Blvd. around 3am after reports of a brawl inside the establishment.
Witnesses said the incident erupted shortly after the bartender announced closing time and asked customers to leave. Several patrons began to argue and tensions quickly escalated into a fight.
During the struggle, the victim – who was assisting the bartender in breaking up the confrontation and urging people to exit – was shot with what investigators described as a small-caliber firearm. He was transported to Erie County Medical Center for treatment. His condition is unknown at this time.
The suspected shooter was only identified to police as “the guy with the cane.”
Niagara Falls Police are continuing to investigate the incident. No arrest was made immediately after the incident. It is unknown if the suspect has been identified as of this article.
