Niagara Falls Police responded to the 1800 block of Linwood Avenue around 1:30pm on July 21st after reports of a larceny that was later changed to a burglary.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim who stated that between July 20th at 6:30pm and July 21st at 12:20pm his Pride Mobility Scooter was stolen out of his garage.
Two chargers for the scooter were also taken.
The scooter is valued at $3,000 and each charger is valued at $89.
Officers observed the garage door to be open with two other scooters in it. The victim told police that those were his old scooters and the one taken was delivered within the last few weeks.
He also stated the garage door does not close.
Officers did observe a Ring video doorbell nearby that could have captured the incident on camera, but the owner was not home.
The victim gave police the name of a suspect whom he believed took the scooter, someone he has a “history” with.
Specifically, this individual told the victim that he was going to get him back because of an interaction with police.
The victim relies on these scooters for mobility due to physical limitations.
There is no further information at this time.
