The Buffalo Bills bolster their defense with the re-signing of defensive tackle DaQuan Jones, a significant move for the team.

Buffalo Bills Secure Defensive Anchor: DaQuan Jones Re-Signs for $16 Million

Jones, the starting nose tackle, has inked a two-year deal worth $16 million, as confirmed by the Bills.

Despite being limited to seven games last season due to a torn pectoral muscle, Jones has been a crucial presence on the field. He showcased his prowess early in the season with 2.5 sacks and 15 pressures in the first four games, ranking among the league's top performers before his injury. Despite the setback, Jones managed to return for the last two regular-season games and both playoff matchups.

Expressing his excitement, Jones took to social media, stating, "WE BACK!!!!!," following the agreement announced by his agency, Athletes First. With $10.5 million guaranteed, Jones' retention is vital for the Bills, especially with uncertainties surrounding the defensive line position entering the NFL's free agency period.

Having only one defensive tackle, Ed Oliver, from last season's active roster under contract for 2024, Jones emerges as a pivotal figure. His re-signing comes at a crucial juncture as the free-agency signing period officially kicks off at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
