Burglar Smashes Through Brick Wall to Gain Entry Into Niagara Falls Business

Niagara Falls Police responded to the Smokehouse on the 1300 block of Pine Avenue around 10:00am on June 14th after reports a burglar smashed through a brick wall to gain entry to a business.

Upon arrival, police spoke to the complainant who stated that someone broke into his business and stole $500 cash along with seven boxes of Newport cigarettes. The suspect also damaged a piece of drywall and broke the cash register by throwing it on the ground.

The complainant brought officers to the back where brick on the side of the building was smashed out. The suspect appears to gain entry through the hole that he made in the building. The suspect then damages a piece of drywall that was in the back area and moves it out of the way to make entry into the store.

Officers viewed surveillance video which appeared to show a black male wearing a mask attempting to gain entry into the building. There are no known suspects. No further information is available.
