A late-night altercation at Elmo’s Restaurant and Bar has led to the arrest of a 53-year-old man following the stabbing of a fellow employee. According to Amherst Police, the incident occurred around 11:30pm on Tuesday when officers responded after reports of a stabbing.
Upon arrival, police discovered that a 32-year-old male employee had been stabbed in the upper arm with a kitchen knife by his coworker. The victim, who is also from Amherst, received medical attention and is in stable condition.
The alleged assailant, identified as Vaughn Williams, has been charged in connection with the incident. He is being held in custody and is awaiting arraignment on charges of second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the stabbing. Many online have speculated the incident arose from the victim eating the suspect's chicken wings. This has not been confirmed.
