Police sources, according to Fox News, are backing off earlier statements that the car explosion was the result of a bomb. Instead, there is a belief that the vehicle crashed at a high rate of speed and exploded as a result of that. This is a developing story.

Reports indicate that the vehicle tried to avoid border patrol on its way from the U.S. to Canada, crossed over median in an attempt to evade and the car crashed and exploded. The car was obliterated and both passengers died.
