Driver Sipping a Cold Corona Tallboy Arrested for DWI

Niagara Falls Police were engaged in routine patrol around 3:40am on May 14th when they observed a vehicle in the area of 24th and Pine Avenue with no operational lights. The vehicle then turned South onto 24th Street at which time police activated their emergency overhead lights to initiate a traffic stop.
Officers approached the vehicle and spoke with the male driver and sole occupant of the vehicle. The driver stated he was returning home from Mario’s convenient store.
While speaking with him, officers noticed two Corona tallboys in the car, one of which was open and cold to the touch. They also detected the smell of alcoholic beverage emitting from him while he spoke.
The driver stated he had drank the Corona earlier in the evening and was "fine."
Officers placed him under arrest. He was given UTT’s for open container, DWI, and driving without headlights on.
