A residential structure fire on Tuesday night has left a family displaced from their home two days before Thanksgiving. The incident occurred around 8pm at 77 Crosby Avenue where flames were reportedly visible on the exterior of the second floor.
Firefighters responded to the emergency call and arrived on the scene to find the fire had spread to the front porch and a corner of the second floor. The fire was quickly extinguished, preventing further damage to the structure.
Two adults and two children were inside the home at the time of the fire. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The family is currently receiving assistance from the Red Cross as they transition to temporary housing.
The fire caused an estimated $20,000 in damage. The cause remains under investigation.
