Federal law enforcement agencies launched a sweeping operation early Tuesday in both the city and town of Lockport, targeting what officials believe is a major drug trafficking network operating in the region.
Agents from the FBI’s Buffalo Field Office and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), supported by state and local police units, executed a series of search warrants at several properties.
At least two K-9 units were deployed during the operation. Law enforcement sources described the operation as the culmination of a “long-term and intricate” investigation.
The coordinated effort took place at undisclosed locations across Lockport, though authorities have yet to reveal whether any arrests were made or contraband was seized during the raids.
Official statements from the FBI and DEA have not been issued at this time. The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office acknowledged its participation in the operation.
More information is expected to be released as the investigation progresses.
