Laptop Purchased Special for Assisted Living Facility Resident Stolen from His Room

Niagara Falls Police responded to an assisted living facility on the 400 block of 17th Street around 5pm on May 7th after reports of a larceny.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with a staff member of assisting living home who stated a resident of the house was missing a MacBook Air valued at $1,900. She further told police that the facility had purchased the laptop for him in January 2025 so that he could watch movies, something that he greatly enjoyed doing.

While going through his room today staff noticed that the laptop was missing.

The resident stated that he hasn’t seen the laptop in some time and assumed it was in the box which was on top of his dresser.

He was adamant that it was not misplaced and someone must have taken it from his room.

There are no suspects at this time. No further information is available at this time.
