Niagara Falls Police responded to the River Inn on the 5900 block of Buffalo Avenue around 12:30pm on December 4th after reports of criminal mischief.
Upon arrival, officers were met by the owner of the motel and suspect, Randy Banks. Officers spoke with Mr. Banks who explained that he rented room 18 for one night (December 3rd) and at approx. 11am today he was involved in an argument with a female whom he described as a “friend.”
The woman whom Randy Banks shared his motel room with was believed to be a “special friend.”
Banks went on to explain that she is struggling with drug abuse and that he was “helping” by letting her stay in his room for a bit. However, an argument ensued between the two which eventually escalated to a physical fight.
During the fight the room’s window shattered to pieces. Banks admitted that he was responsible for the damage to the window.
Officers then spoke with the motel owner who stated that he wished to press charges on Banks. Banks was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for booking and processing. He was released with an appearance ticket.
