Man Sentenced to Only 6 Months in Jail for Fatally Striking Pedestrian While Drunk

Curtis L. Hall Jr., a 37-year-old resident of Buffalo, was sentenced to six months in jail after hitting and killing a pedestrian while driving under the influence of alcohol. The incident occurred on December 15th, 2023 when Hall struck 69-year-old Michael T. Cosgrove as he was crossing William Street in the City of Buffalo.
Hall pleaded guilty to one count of criminally negligent homicide on May 21st, 2024. The Erie County District Attorney's Office said that this was the "most severe charge that could be sustained." In addition to his jail sentence, Hall will have his NYS driver's license revoked.
Upon his release from jail (4 months with good behavior) he will also be placed on five years of probation.

How does this happen?? My son with no priors beat a man who had been cheating with his wife, the man passed away 9 months later, and while Judge said he knew it wasn’t intentional…..he was sentenced to 15 years ‼️‼️‼️‼️😓😓😓
