Niagara Whirlpool Loop Hiking Trail

About:

Experience this spectacular 2.9-mile trail situated near Queenston, Ontario. Its moderately difficult terrain typically takes about 1 hour and 19 minutes to traverse, proving an exhilarating adventure for seasoned hikers. Known for birding, hiking, and snowshoeing, expect to meet fellow nature enthusiasts during your exploration. You can enjoy this trail the most from March to November. Please note that dogs are permitted, but should be kept on a leash at all times.

Starting at the Nature Centre, the trail winds leisurely through verdant forests, taking you to the Niagara Gorge base. The most captivating part of the journey lies along the waterside sections, also known as the Whirlpool Trails. Here, massive boulders beckon climbers, and during summer, you might find tranquil spots for a quick toe-dip to beat the heat. But be cautious, as flooding during high-water seasons might reroute the trail.

Upper trail areas are quite safe for family activities but can get busy during weekends. Due to flooding risks and rocky terrains, the lower areas might not be suitable for children. Be ready to experience a new facet of the Niagara area - all wrapped up in the allure of this exciting trail!
