Niagara Falls is the Fastest Waterfall in the World

Although Niagara Falls is not the highest waterfall in the world, it does rank as the fastest.

At the upper rapids just above the falls speeds can reach in excess of 40 miles (68 kilometers) per hour. However, the fastest speeds occur at the falls themselves where a combination of volume and height result in speeds in excess of 65 MPH. The fastest speed ever recorded was 68 MPH.
