Niagara Falls Police responded to the 2000 block of Grand Avenue around 2pm on April 30th after reports of a burglary in progress.
En route to the location, dispatch advised officers that a white female and white male were trying to gain access to the property.
Upon arrival, officers approached from the front and rear of the residence. The officer in the rear of the home informed the other officer that both suspects were in the backyard.
Each officer detained one of the suspects. The property manager arrived on scene. He said they were checking on properties owned by the company when they observed the male and female at the property. He knew the property was vacant and condemned, and that no one should have been there.
There was damage to the window located on the south side of the residence. The officer who went to the rear of the residence observed the male hanging out of the window when he first saw them.
The estimated damage to the window is $200. The owner of the property wished to press charges.
Both suspects were transported to police headquarters for booking and processing. The female had a warrant and was held for arraignment.
No further information is available at this time.
