Niagara Falls Police Officer Pulls Gun on Suspect

Niagara Falls Police responded to the 1700 block of Ashland Avenue around 5pm on December 10th after reports of a subject with a gun.

Upon arrival, officers observed a black male matching the provided description wearing a blue hoodie and blue jeans walking westbound in an alleyway. Officers exited their patrol vehicle and ordered the suspect to the ground where he was handcuffed and detained.

While confronting the suspect, at least one officer used their department-issued gun and acquired a target on him. The male was searched for any weapons yielding negative results.

NFPD dispatch advised officers that the male had an active warrant out of the Cheektowaga Police Department. He was placed in the rear of a patrol vehicle and transported to a location where Cheektowaga Police took custody of him.

No further information is available at this time.
