Niagara Falls Police were flying a drone in the area of the 600 block of 19th Street around 8pm on May 9th after receiving complaints from several residents regarding illegal gambling going on in the area.

Officers were near the City owned lot located on the 600 block where they observed several parties rolling dice and exchanging money. The official incident reported noted that this has been a consistent problem with the same individuals.

The group was previously advised to cease their activities and disregarded the warning. The incident report also stated that the parties who engage in these activities are also known to be violent and have previous arrests for narcotics, firearms, and etc.. This area in the vicinity of 19th Street is considered a hotspot for these types of complaints.

The drone was launched to better observe the actions of these individuals. During that time, officers observed a dice game where they were exchanging money.

Officers were able to clearly see and identify all individuals. Due to the area being a hotspot, multiple units converged on the area. Three parties were taken into custody for loitering.

Three dice were recovered. All parties were issued an appearance ticket and released.
