Shoplifter at Tops Wants to Do Laundry, Gets Arrested Instead

Niagara Falls Police responded to Tops on Portage Road around 11:45am on May 10th after reports of a shoplifter.

Upon arrival, police spoke with a store employee who stated he observed a male place two packages of tide pods, three scent beads and one bottle of Clorox bleach into a cart and proceed to pass all points of purchase. The items cost a total of $65.71.


The store employee also commented that he was familiar with this shoplifter as he has stolen from Tops on several prior occasions.


The male was waiting for police in the front office and was placed under arrest. He was transported to police headquarters.
