North Tonawanda Man Indicted for Fatal Stabbing

John A. Rudes, a 28-year-old resident of North Tonawanda, has been indicted on charges related to a fatal stabbing that occurred last September. Rudes is facing one count of Murder in the Second Degree.

According to the Erie County District Attorney's Office, the incident took place on September 17, 2023, when Buffalo Police received a report of a stabbing on the 1000 block of Kenmore Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim, Terry Jackson, 59, lying on the front steps of an apartment building. Tragically, Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigations conducted by law enforcement officials allege that Rudes intentionally caused Jackson's death by repeatedly stabbing him in the neck. The motive behind the attack remains unknown.

Rudes was arraigned on the charges and is scheduled to return to court on July 15 for a pre-trial conference. He is currently being held without bail.

If convicted, Rudes could face a sentence of up to 25 years to life in prison.

As the case progresses, more details are expected to emerge shedding light on the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
