North Tonawanda Police Take Armed Robbery Suspect into Custody

North Tonawanda Police have arrested a man accused of carrying out an armed robbery in the early morning hours on Saturday, August 16th, near Oliver Street and Center Avenue.
Authorities said they were called to the scene around 3:55am after receiving a report of the incident. By the time officers arrived, the suspect had already fled.
Roughly two hours later, at about 5:55am, members of the midnight patrol shift located the suspect and placed him under arrest without any resistance.
Police identified the suspect as Stephen Yaksich. He is facing multiple charges, including first-degree robbery, which is a Class B felony.
In addition, Yaksich has been charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both Class D felonies, as well as two counts of second-degree menacing, which are Class A misdemeanors.
Following his arraignment in North Tonawanda City Court, Yaksich was remanded to the Niagara County Jail.
