Official Statement Niagara Falls Police on Human Remains Found Boarded Up in Home

NFPD Criminal Investigation Division was made aware of the possibility that human remains were hidden in the basement of 2419 Orleans Avenue.  Detectives from both Crime Scene and Criminal Investigation responded and discovered human remains found boarded up under the basement stairs.

Those remains were collected and transferred to Erie County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

Richard Fox, who has been charged in Erie County with two separate murders, did reside at the Orleans property and is a person of interest in this investigation. 

Because of the condition of the remains the Identity and cause of death are still under investigation.
