Niagara Falls has Squirrels so Friendly They May Jump on You (lovingly, of course)

Niagara Falls has squirrels so friendly they may jump on you
SQUIRREL!

No vacation is complete without stories to bring back and tell family members or friends. After visiting Niagara Falls State Park, one of those tales could be about critters who call it their home.

One of the most memorable things you could see during your trip to Niagara Falls are squirrels who are so friendly they come right up to you and, in some cases, try and tag along for a ride.

Squirrels being so friendly with people is common at Niagara Falls State Park. One of the main reasons for this is is that they have become desensitized to humans over time in and around the State Park due to the millions of people that come every year.

Essentially, the squirrels have so much human interaction their fear of humans - which most critters elsewhere would have - is greatly reduced. Another major reason for this (and probably the most meaningful one) is that squirrels across Niagara Falls State Park are fed by tourists every day which make them, as you can imagine, very happy.

Below is a video from April of 2023 where a cute squirrel was caught on camera jumping on a man at Niagara Falls State Park. The man was not startled whatsoever and, as you can see, rather enjoyed the experience!

Plan your trip today and capture unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime. After all, you never know what you'll see during a Niagara Falls vacation!
