One of the most common questions we get is "is the Niagara Falls State Park dog friendly?" We're happy to tell you that, YES it is! BUT there are a few rules...

Dogs at Niagara Falls New York
Niagara Falls State Park allows dogs to enjoy vacation, too!

The natural wonder of Niagara Falls – the American, Horseshoe and Bridal Veil Falls – is

enjoyed by over 22.5 million tourists each and every year. Specifically, 9.5 million annually on the American side and 13.5 million annually on the Canadian side.

However, what those numbers do not account for are the ten of thousands of dogs that go to the state park with their owners each year.

Dogs of all kinds and sizes are welcome to walk throughout the state park 365 days a year, but there are a few rules:

  • Dogs must be on a leash less than 6 ft long at all times.

  • You must clean up after your dog

  • Dogs must be up to date on vaccinations.

  • Dogs can not be leashed or tied down in a way that can cause damage to Park property

  • Dogs are not allowed in areas that are marked as prohibited for animals

IMPORTANT

If you are planning on going on any of the Niagara Falls attractions, please note that pets are not permitted in the following places:

  • Inside State buildings

  • Maid of the Mist

  • Cave of the Winds

  • Most restaurants (indoor seating)

  • Discovery Center

  • Aquarium of Niagara

  • Tours

*There are exceptions for service animals.
