Hikers can listen to the soothing sound of the roaring waters of the brightly aqua-coloured Niagara River or traverse through the serene, shaded forest canopies adorned with fascinating rock formations. Several visitors have remarked that they felt a sensation of being drawn closer. Once there, you will have a front row seat to the power of the falls as water is driven into the lower Niagara River. The report was first published by Buffalo Business First . In an effort to jumpstart development in the area, the city and the agency are currently engaged in negotiations with lenders to purchase these properties out of foreclosure. Kevin Forma, the director of planning for the city and executive director of the agency, revealed that the city's plan is to subsequently sell the properties to multiple developers. By dividing the properties among different developers, the city hopes to stimulate long-delayed development and breathe new life into the Main Street district. The Rapids Theatre, a beloved historic venue known for its live performances and events, is a key property targeted for acquisition. The city and the agency envision transforming these properties into thriving businesses, attractions, and community spaces that will contribute to the overall revitalization of the area. This initiative aligns with the city's broader strategy to foster economic growth and enhance the appeal of Niagara Falls as a prominent tourist destination. By collaborating with developers and leveraging these properties, the city aims to attract new investments and create a vibrant atmosphere along Main Street. As negotiations progress, the City of Niagara Falls and the Niagara Falls Urban Renewal Agency remain committed to their vision of a prosperous and dynamic community. The City believes that their acquisition of these properties represents a significant step forward in their ongoing efforts to revitalize the area and create a brighter future for Niagara Falls. Teenagers Jump Fence to Swim at City Pool, Get Charged with Misdemeanors Niagara Falls Police responded to the Centre Court Pool on the 1500 block of Centre Avenue around 10:00am on August 14th after reports of an unwanted persons complaint. While en route, officers were advised that four male parties jumped inside the fenced area of the city pool and were swimming. Upon arrival, officers observed four males inside of the fenced area who were actively trying to leave when they saw the patrol vehicle. It is believed based on the police report that all of the individuals were teenagers. The males ran into the neighboring yards. At this point, officers were not going to pursue any further action. Shortly afterwards, officers were called back to the area due to the same males harassing the 911 caller. Officers made contact with the males at the playground, which is adjacent to the Centre Court pool. Two of the males immediately took off on bicycles and the other two were taken into custody. Due to the city pool being closed, gated and locked, officers charged them with criminal trespass 3rd, which is a Class B misdemeanor (punishable by up to 90 days in county jail). At least one individual was taken to police headquarters for booking and processing. Unhinged Male Pushes Shopping Carts Onto Niagara Falls Blvd., Sits on New Cars at Basil Ford Niagara Falls Police responded to the 6900 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard around 8pm on August 12th after reports of a mental health check that would late become a trespass. While traveling to the location, officers were advised that a white male was pushing shopping carts into the roadway around the 7000 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard near Tops. Shortly thereafter, officers were notified of a second call stating that the same male was in the Basil Ford parking lot and would not leave. Upon arrival, officers observed the male sitting on a vehicle that he did not own. He was immediately detained and placed in the rear of a patrol vehicle. Officers then went and spoke with one of the managers of the car dealership who stated that he asked the male to leave the property because he was inside yelling at staff and customers. His actions were causing people to be uncomfortable and, in some cases, fearful of what he might do next as he seemed unhinged. Although the male left the inside of the dealership, he remained on the property. Management of Basil Ford requested that he be trespassed from the property. The male was transported to police headquarters for booking and processing and released with an appearance ticket.
