Shoplifting Suspect Caught after Going through Unmanned Register Line

A Niagara Falls Police officer was working security for Walmart around 3:45pm on November 7th when he was alerted by asset protection of a shoplifting in progress.
Asset protection advised the officer that a black male had pushed a shopping cart full of groceries through and unmanned register and was heading toward the home and living exit. The male did push the cart passed all points of purchase without rendering payment.
The officer and asset protection confronted the man at the exit where he was detained and escorted to the security office. The male was arrested and issued an appearance ticket returnable at Niagara Falls City Court.
The cart contained 58 items totaling $580.66. No further information is available at this time.
