Niagara Falls Police responded to 7-Eleven on the 2800 block of Pine Avenue around 11:40am on December 3rd after reports of a shoplifter.
En route to the call, radio advised officers that the caller – who was the assistant manager – was following the suspect on Pine Avenue. Radio then updated officers that the suspect, who was a black male wearing a camo jacket, walked into Mario’s located at 2304 Pine.
Officers arrived at Mario’s. As an officer approached the store, a black male matching the description exited the store and began running.
He was slow and officers apprehended him quickly. The male identified himself as Jamar Holland and immediately told police, “man I have a problem, I am sick.”
He was placed in the rear of a patrol vehicle and transported back to 7-Eleven. While still in the vehicle, he said, “if they don’t want to press charges I will tell them where I stashed it.” He was positively identified as the suspect after arriving at 7-Eleven.
In total, Holland stole a 12 pack of Corona valued at $18.99 and an 18 pack of Corona vialled at $27.99.
Holland was transported to police headquarters for booking and processing where he was released on an appearance ticket.
