Suspect Stealing Snickers Candy Bar Injures Walgreens Employee

Niagara Falls Police responded Walgreens on the 1200 block of Pine Avenue around 5:30pm on May 3rd after reports of a robbery that was later changed to criminal mischief and harassment.
Upon arrival, officers spoke to an employee who stated that an unknown female wearing all black entered the store and grabbed a Snickers bar. She approached the female approach the exit of the store and attempt to walk out with the candy bar.
The employee stated she verbally confronted the female and told her to pay for the item. At this time, the unknown female threw the candy bar at her face, striking the employee forcefully in her left eye, resulting in her glasses breaking.
The female then exited the store and began to run towards Frankie’s Donuts. Officers did a search of the area for her with negative results.
Officers observed redness around the employee’s eye and that her glasses were broken in half. The broken glasses are valued at $400.
