Upstate New York Chocolate Shop Earns National Recognition in USA Today Contest

A beloved local chocolate shop in the heart of Upstate New York is once again capturing national attention as it competes for the top spot in USA Today’s 10Best Chocolate Shops in America.

Saratoga Chocolate Co., located at 454 Broadway, has been nominated in the annual USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, placing them among the top 20 chocolatiers in the country. The shop already received nationwide recognition in 2024 by securing a third-place finish on the national list. This year, they’re aiming even higher.

Founded in 2016 by Allison Rose, Saratoga Chocolate Co. has built a reputation for its handcrafted, small-batch confections made from ethically sourced ingredients. In recent years, the company has expanded its operations to include a retail storefront and café.

“This nomination means so much to us,” said Rose in an interview with News 10. “Last year’s third-place finish was amazing, but we’d love to see a New York chocolate shop take the number one spot. We’re incredibly grateful for the support and are hoping our community — and chocolate lovers everywhere — will help us make it happen.”

USA Today’s annual 10Best rankings are determined by both expert input and public voting. The list features standout chocolate shops known for their unique flavors, high-quality ingredients, and passionate craftsmanship.

Voting is open to the public and runs until noon on June 10th. Supporters can cast one vote per day on the USA Today 10Best website.
