Vehicle Repossession Results in Multiple Arrests in Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls Police responded to the 2900 block of Robert E. Easton Drive around 8pm on June 4th after reports of disorderly conduct.  

Upon arrival, officers were met by an employee of Adam’s Towing who explained that he was in Jordan Gardens reprocessing a Chevy Malibu rental vehicle belonging to AVIS Car Rental when he was confronted by the driver.

Officers spoke to the female who was driving the vehicle who wanted to retrieve personal belongings from the vehicle. After retrieving the belongings, an argument ensued between a male bystander and the tow truck driver regarding the repossession. The bystander continued to escalate the situation at which point he started yelling profanities causing several neighbors to exit their apartments to watch the commotion.

The bystander was given multiple orders to get out of the roadway and to stand on the sidewalk, which he refused. Due to his continued yelling, he was placed in handcuffs and placed under arrest for disorderly conduct. Officers then escorted him to a patrol vehicle.

Officers continued to stand with the tow truck operator as he placed the vehicle onto his truck. During this time, bystander #2 entered the roadway to speak with the bystander already in custody.

Bystander #2 was given multiple commands to exit the roadway as a vehicle was attempting to drive past the incident. He refused, stating, “I don’t have to get out of the fuc*ing road.”

He was then placed in handcuffs and placed under arrest for disorderly conduct as well.

Both bystanders were transported to police headquarters for booking and processing. No further information is available at this time.
