Niagara Falls Police responded to the 1300 block of Niagara Avenue around 11am on May 7th after reports of criminal mischief.

Upon arrival, officers spoke to the homeowner who stated she noted damage to her privacy vinyl fence panel on the east side of her property. The homeowner stated that she has had “numerous issues” with the next-door neighbors vandalizing her fence.

She stated kids at that address hit the fence with their basketball leaving marks and have caused the fence to start to cave. She also stated that the fence has been vandalized with spray paint.

Officers did observe a broken fence panel as well as multiple basketball scuffs and spray paint on the fence that neighbors the address she stated there are issues with. The damage is estimated at $200 to $500.

Officers spoke to a woman who resides at the neighboring residence. She stated that her grandchildren reside at the home with her and that she is not sure who caused the damage to the fence. However, she told police she believes it to be a friend of her grandchildren. The name as given to police.

No further information is available at this time.
