2-year-old Shot and Undergoes Emergency Surgery

Cheektowaga Police are investigating a Lackawanna Avenue shooting that left a 2-year-old injured Sunday morning in the Village of Sloan.

Officers responded to the scene around 10:30am after reports of shots fired.

One individual was taken into custody as part of the investigation. Their name has not been released.

Authorities confirmed that the child was rushed to Oishei Children’s Hospital where surgery was performed.

The child's condition is unknown at this time.
