A Cheektowaga father is in legal peril following the untimely death of his young child.
Jahmil A. Paisley, 31, has been charged with 2nd degree manslaughter in connection with the death of his 21-month-old son, according to an announcement made Tuesday by Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane.
First responders were dispatched to an apartment on Slate Creek Drive around 3:30pm on Friday, October 18th, 2024, after a 911 caller reported an unresponsive toddler. The child was rushed to Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, but despite medical efforts was later pronounced dead.
Paisley has been taken into custody and is currently being held without bail. While a date for his next court appearance has yet to be confirmed, he could face up to 15 years behind bars if convicted of the manslaughter charge.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, and no additional information has been released at this time.
