Motorcyclist Airlifted with Life-threatening Injuries Following Crash in Niagara County

A motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries after a serious crash involving an SUV at the intersection of Robinson Road and East Canal Road in the Town of Lockport on Thursday, July 24th.
According to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, deputies and New York State Troopers responded to a 911 call reporting a motor vehicle accident shortly after it occurred.
Their preliminary investigation revealed that a 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Robinson Road when it collided with a 2019 Toyota SUV heading westbound.
The crash occurred as the SUV attempted to make a left turn onto East Canal Road, crossing into the motorcycle’s path. The two vehicles collided in the eastbound lane with both coming to rest in the intersection.
The 59-year-old male motorcyclist sustained critical injuries and was airlifted by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center for emergency treatment.
The 34-year-old woman driving the Toyota was assessed by emergency responders at the scene and released.
Authorities are withholding the identities of those involved.
The Niagara County Sheriff's Office Accident Investigation Unit is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
No charges, as of this time, have been filed against the female driver of the Toyota.
