Woman Shot by Officer After Threatening Behavior With Knife
Amherst police confirmed that an officer shot and injured a woman on Tuesday afternoon at the Colonie Apartment Complex on Sweet Home Road. Authorities said the incident began around 2pm when a female armed with a knife was reported to be acting in a “threatening manner.” According to police, she advanced toward officers before being shot by one of them. Emergency crews provided medical treatment at the scene and the woman was then transported to Erie County Medical Center. P
