Niagara Falls Police responded to McDonald’s on Pine Avenue in the City Market around 7:30pm on July 27th after reports of a larceny.
Upon arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that he came to McDonald’s earlier around 4:10pm and placed his bicycle outside at the bike rack.
While he was inside, someone stole the bike, which was described as a silver Schwinn valued at approx. $350.
The victim had spoken with a worker who described the female as white with a pink shirt and blue jeans. He stated that this was the same female who asked him for money when he was walking into McDonald’s.
A few hours later, he observed the female outside of McDonald’s and called police for assistance. The female, now identified as Sarah Krantz, was located in the City Market parking lot, detained, and transported back to McDonald’s as part of the investigation.
Officers made contact with the McDonald’s manager and camera footage was reviewed. The video showed the victim arriving on the bicycle and leaving it outside. Krantz then steals the bicycle.
Krantz stated that someone gave her $30 to go and steal the bicycle from McDonald’s. She was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for booking and processing.
It did not mention in the police incident report whether the bicycle was recovered.
No further information is available at this time.
