Niagara Falls Police responded to the 1100 block of Ashland Avenue around 7:30am on June 25th after reports of two men fighting over crack causing a public disturbance.
Upon arrival, police observed two males loudly arguing in the area. One of the males was on the front lawn and another on the porch. Officers spoke to a witness who stated both individuals reside at the house and are “heavy drug users.” The argument, according to the witness, was about “them stealing each other's crack throughout the evening.”
Both individuals were warned on multiple occasions to stop arguing as they were disturbing the neighborhood around them - it was becoming a community spectacle. Both of the men were put in separate areas to attempt to quell the situation and advised that if they continued they would both be taken to jail for disorderly conduct.
Both parties complied and assured officers they could live civally as they were leaving for work soon. However, shortly after police received a repeat call to the residence where they encountered one of the males again on the lawn arguing with the other on the porch. At this time, police took each into custody. The male on the lawn was apprehended without issue. The male on the porch attempted to lock himself in the house to prevent being taken to jail. He was ultimately taken into custody as well.
