Woman's Face Torn Apart by Dog in Niagara County Requiring Emergency Hospitalization

Law enforcement/emergency services received a call around 11:10pm on December 3rd after reports of a dog attack on Sweeney Street in North Tonawanda.
The 911 caller told dispatch that a female was attacked by a dog. It was unknown at the time of the call if the dog was contained.
North Tonawanda Fire and EMT were called to the scene. Additional information was received that the 26-year-old female was attacked by a dog and the bleeding was not controlled with a decreased level of consciousness. The injuries were caused by bites.
At this time, the dog was controlled and away from the caller.
The incident was deemed an ALS priority. The female was transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment. It is unknown if she had to have emergency surgery for the injuries sustained.
