Car Thief Hits 100th Street, Unlocked Vehicles Making It Too Easy

Niagara Falls Police responded to the 1700 block of 100th Street around 4:00pm on June 26th after reports of a car thief breaking into two vehicles overnight.

Upon arrival, police spoke to the complainants who stated an unknown suspect took items from their vehicles sometime between 7:30pm on June 25th and 2:30pm on June 26th. Both of the complainants left their vehicles unlocked when they went to bed.

Today, the male complainant went to retrieve his wallet when he noticed that the contents of his vehicle were disturbed. He then noticed that his wallet (valued at $10) containing $60 cash, a KeyBank debit card, his NYS drivers license, and social security card was missing. The female complainant then checked her vehicle where she noticed her KeyBank check book was missing as well.

The male complainant stated that he has cameras on his residence. However, he had to turn them off prior to the incident due to them not working properly. NICAC did provide an officer awareness on June 24th which displays an unknown black male who was reportedly checking door handles in the area of 101st Street.
