Drunk Suspect Shatters Glass Door after Store Clerk Refuses to Sell him Beer

Niagara Falls Police responded to Hometown Market at 1601 Pierce Avenue around 6pm on December 3rd after reports of criminal mischief.

Upon arrival, officers were met by a store employee who stated that at 1600 hours a male entered the store appearing “angry and intoxicated.” The male attempted to buy a beer, but the employee refused to sell it to him due to him already being “extremely intoxicated.”

The male then walked out of the store while yelling obscenities. He kicked the glass front door and then grabbed the top part of a garbage can outside and threw it at the door, completely shattering it. The male then walked away.

The damage to the door is estimated at $1,400. Officers located the suspect nearby and placed him under arrest. He was transported to police headquarters for booking and processing. No further information is available at this time.

I hope they at least make him pay the full price to replace the door. The people who own and work at that store are doing the neighborhood a favor being located there even though they are literally taking their lives into their own hands
