Male Arrested on Warrants Admits to Another Crime: “I just stole the candy from Dollar Tree”

Around 2pm on July 20th, Niagara Falls Police observed a male known to have several warrants out of Niagara Falls walking across the Tops parking lot on Portage Road.

Dispatch confirmed the warrants, at which time officers approached the male and told him to place his hands behind his back. He complied and was placed into custody. Officers observed the male to have to Walmart bags with numerous bags of candy. The male stated, “I just stole the candy from Dollar Tree.”

Police relocated to Dollar Tree to confirm the stolen goods. An employee confirmed that the candy was stolen and positively identified the male as the culprit. The male was transported to police headquarters for booking and processing. He was held due to the outstanding warrants until arraignment.
