Male Sustains Fatal Gunshot Wound to the Chest in Niagara Falls

On August 24, 2024, at approximately 8:50pm the Niagara Falls Police Department responded to the area of 449 – 9thStreet for a shooting incident. Upon arrival, police found a large crowd from a nearby memorial gathering and a male victim unresponsive on the front lawn from what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the chest.

Officers began attempting to secure the area while providing life saving measures to the victim. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel. At this time, the victim’s name is not being released.

The only description of the suspect is a male dressed in all black with a hoodie pulled over his head last seen running south in the 400 block of 9th Street.
