Niagara Falls Police responded to the 400 block of 21st Street around 7pm on September 29th after reports of a neighbor dispute.
Upon arrival, officers spoke to neighbor #1 who stated that he was “just pepper sprayed” by neighbor #2, who is a female. Officers observed neighbor #1’s face and eyes to be swollen and red.
Neighbor #1 states that he lives on the upstairs floor at his residence and an unknown female was babysitting neighbor #2’s children downstairs. Neighbor #1 states he and his girlfriend were unloading groceries into their apartment through the alleyway. Neighbor #2 then started calling neighbor #1’s girlfriend a “skank.”
Neighbor #1 then attempted to go inside to bring groceries in which is when neighbor #2 started kicking the door. Neighbor #1 then exited through the side door and neighbor #2 continues to yell at him which is when he got sprayed in the face out of a squirt gun. The substance inside of the squirt gun is unknown at this time. However, it was not water.
Neighbor #2 then fled from the residence which is when he called police. Neighbor #1 described to police “intense burning” to his eyes and around his face. While officers were speaking with him, neighbor #2 pulled in front of the residence with her vehicle. She left the vehicle to explain to officers her side of the story.
Neighbor #2 was then placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for booking and processing. AMR responded to the scene to provide medical assistance to neighbor #1. No further information is available at this time.
