Street Altercation with Fighting and Drinking Lead to Arrest

Niagara Falls Police responded to the 2400 block of Linwood Avenue around 6am on December 28th after reports of an unknown disturbance.

While en route, officers noticed a large group in the road. While on the 2400 block of Linwood officers spoke to a woman who stated that her son, whom she declined to give his name, had been fighting and drinking all night with another male. The other male became aggressive while officers were on the scene.

The woman had her son ready to leave when the other male started making comments about them (the mother and son). The male was so obnoxious that when officers looked around, residents along the block were on their porches looking down at the quarrel.

At that time, officers told the male that he was under arrest and to place his hands behind his back. The male then fled down the street. Nearby officers were able to intercept the male who was placed into custody without incident.

The male was transported to police headquarters for booking and processing. He was released with an appearance ticket. No further information is available at this time.
