Suspect Steals Coronas from Family Dollar, Hides Behind Dumpster to Drink them

Niagara Falls Police responded to Family Dollar on the 2100 block of Hyde Park Blvd. around 3pm on December 3rd after reports of a shoplifter.

Upon arrival, officers spoke to an employee who stated that a black male entered the store, grabbed two cans of Corona beer from the cooler, and proceeded to pass all points of payment and walk out of the store. The suspect then went behind the dumpster and drank the beers.

While still interviewing the employee, the suspect approached officers in an aggressive manner which led to him being detained and placed in the backseat of a marked patrol vehicle.

He was charged with petit larceny and transported to police headquarters for booking and processing without incident. No further information is available at this time.
