Tree Falls on Niagara County Man and Kills Him

Authorities are investigating a fatal accident that occurred Monday afternoon in Niagara County after a man was seriously injured while cutting a tree.

According to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, the incident was reported on March 9th at approximately 3:24pm when the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a 911 call reporting that a man had suffered severe injuries during a tree-cutting accident.

Deputies and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene where they located a 59-year-old male who had sustained critical injuries.

First responders began providing emergency medical care, but despite their efforts the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim. Officials said the name will remain withheld until family members have been properly notified.

Law enforcement has not yet indicated what specifically caused the accident while he was cutting the tree.
