Woman Runs Out of Store with Stolen Merchandise into Arms of Police Officers

Niagara Falls Police responded to Family Dollar on Hyde Park Boulevard around 8:30pm on October 9th after reports of a shoplifter.

Upon arrival, officers spoke to the complainant who stated that a short, white female with a purple shirt and pink backpack entered the store and immediately went to the party aisle and began stuffing bags full of merchandise. She was planning to have a party.

The suspect then proceeded to the register and acted like she was going to cash out. Just as everything was rung up, she stated, “I forgot my card” and took off out of the store with the merchandise passing all points of sale. Right as she exited the store right as officers arrived - she essentially ran right into their arms.

She was placed in the back of a patrol vehicle and transported to police headquarters for booking and processing. The merchandise totaled $109.19. No further information is available at this time.
