- Disney World Move Over - Niagara Falls is the Happiest Place on Earth
Thousands of people flock to Niagara Falls every year, eager to experience the sheer magnificence and incredibly rejuvenating power of the Falls. Not only is this wonder of nature beautiful to behold, it also provides an environment filled with negative ions which make this destination the happiest place on Earth - literally. It's essential to understand what these ions are. In simplest terms, ions are molecules or atoms that carry a charge. They can either be positively charged (called cations) or negatively charged (called anions). Positive ions, usually found in places like enclosed, air-conditioned buildings or polluted cities, are believed to produce negative effects on the body like feeling drained of energy or mood changes. Conversely, negative ions are beneficial. They are found abundantly in natural settings, especially near moving water, such as the beautiful Niagara Falls. In places like Niagara Falls, the water cascading down continuously creates tons of these negative ions. Once they reach our bloodstream, these ions are said to produce biochemical reactions that increase levels of serotonin, a mood chemical that helps alleviate depression, relieve stress, and boost our daytime energy. Aside from mood-boosting, other reported benefits of negative ions include enhanced immunity, purification of the blood, better sleep, and mental clarity. Exposure to negative ions can alleviate allergies by purifying the air from dust and pollen. To take it a step further, a recent study found that high levels of negative ions are potentially beneficial for slowing down the aging process and rejuvenating the skin. By visiting this mesmerizing place, you are essentially bathing yourself in an invisible sea of wellness-promoting molecules. The city surrounding the Falls offers countless tourist attractions like museums, casinos, parks, and historic sites. There is more than one reason Niagara Falls is dubbed as the Happiest Place on Earth. It’s a natural wonder that gives visitors an enchanting view, beneficial health effects, and a one-of-a-kind experience they won't forget. Make sure Niagara Falls is on your bucket list!

- Sadly, There is no Josh Allen - Patrick Mahomes Comparison & Here's Why
When analyzing quarterback talent in the NFL, few can deny that Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills and Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs are two of the most prominent names in the sport. Despite the numbers, highlight-reel plays, and thrilling fourth-quarter performances exhibited by both on a yearly basis, their career accomplishments make it clear they are not exactly on the same level. With Mahomes being an undeniable force and experiencing significantly more success, there's an evident disparity. After assuming the starting quarterback role in Kansas City, Mahomes has revolutionized the Chiefs offense in a spectacular manner. At 28, he has already captured two Super Bowl championships, Super Bowl MVP, and two NFL MVP awards - feats that speak volumes of his elite-level talent and consistent play. Also, Mahomes holds the fastest record to reach 10,000 passing yards, establishing him as a fearsome offensive weapon in the league. Mahomes has made it to the AFC Championship game in each year since becoming a starter in the NFL, going to the Super Bowl four times in that span. In contrast, Josh Allen has not yet matched the heights of Mahomes’ success. Despite being an exceptional player in his own right and having tremendous individual success, his resume pales when compared to Mahomes. He does not hold any league MVPs or Super Bowl titles – with only one AFC Championship game appearance and never having reached the Super Bowl - something Mahomes achieved his first few years in the league. This doesn't demean Allen's prowess as an NFL quarterback. With the Bills' management seemingly surrounding him with more weapons and the right system in place, Allen's journey to reaching his potential and challenging Mahomes' dominance can become more than a dream. But for now, Mahomes’ incredible array of accolades and game-changing performances undoubtedly place him at a level above Allen. While both Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes are exceptional talents with bright futures, their careers so far haven't been on the same plane. Time will tell whether Allen will eventually match or perhaps surpass Mahomes' exploits – we sure hope he can.

- Exploring Why the Weather is Often Colder Down by Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls is a true marvel of nature that consistently attracts millions of tourists throughout the year. Its microclimate creates a fascinating natural phenomenon that visitors can experience. Let's dive into why the weather is often colder down by Niagara Falls, an interesting tidbit that shapes a visitor's experience. One of the main reasons it often feels colder near Niagara Falls is due to the body of water the falls flows into - the Niagara River. Water bodies generally influence local climate due to their heat capacity, their ability to store and retain heat energy. Compared to the land, water takes more time to heat up or cool down. The surrounding air by the river stays cooler than the inland air because the water remains cooler. The second factor at play here is the water mist produced by the Falls themselves. When the rushing waters of the Niagara Falls crash down from great heights, they create a curtain of mist that envelops the surrounding areas. This mist not only keeps the nearby regions more humid but can also lower the temperature, especially when combined with cooler air during fall and winter. An additional component that adds to the colder temperatures near Niagara Falls is the Lake Effect. The falls are situated between two large bodies of water, Lake Erie to the south and Lake Ontario to the north. During the winter, cold dry air blows over these unfrozen, relatively warmer lakes, picks up moisture and heat, then drops it as snow as the air rises and cools over land. This Lake Effect results in lower temperatures and heavy snowfall near Niagara Falls. Lastly, Niagara Falls resides in a lower-lying basin which can trap colder air, further intensifying the cool temperatures around the Falls. Cooler air is denser and sinks into the basin, often making it a few degrees colder than the surrounding higher-altitude areas. All these elements together generate a microclimate around Niagara Falls often resulting in it being chillier than neighboring regions. Whether this gives visitors a refreshing cool-down in summer or requires bundling up more heavily in the colder months, this unique weather aspect undoubtedly adds to the one-of-a-kind Niagara Falls experience. After all, where else could you possibly experience the magic of waterfalls creating their own weather!

Known for bringing delightful culinary delights to Highmark Stadium all season, Delaware North declared this week they're introducing two unique choices for the divisional playoff matchup against Kansas City that have a special nod to Swift. - A 'Love Story' at Niagara Falls: A Must-See Detour for Taylor Swift
It's a pretty common story: Taylor Swift in town to cheer on her NFL beau Travis Kelce in a Kansas City Chiefs vs Buffalo Bills showdown. Yet, as thrilling as the on-field action promises to be, Swift might well find herself captivated by an off-field sight, something of nature's own powerful spectacle: the Frozen Falls. Here's a short guide for the music superstar. 1. Experience the Niagara Falls State Park: The first spot Taylor should visit is the oldest state park in the United States, which provides visitors a fantastic, up-close view of the Niagara Falls. Considering her fondness for history (reflected in songs like Tim McGraw and Love Story), she'll love the chance to walk the paths walked by indigenous peoples and early settlers. 2. Cave of the Winds: The wind might play with her famous blond locks, but that's part of the fun at the Cave of the Winds, where an elevator descends 175 feet into the Niagara Gorge. 3. Wine Tasting at Niagara-on-the-Lake: And if Taylor wants to combine her visit with some of the finer things in life, the charming and scenic town of Niagara-on-the-Lake offers world-renowned wineries, perfect for a little downtime. She could also consider booking an Ice Wine tour as it aligns well with the Frozen Falls theme! It doesn't take a storyteller to imagine Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce hand in hand, strolling the frosted Niagara Falls, or cuddled up close under the color-flooded night skies - skies as changeable as the hue of Swift's hit albums. And no matter the final score of the football game, experiencing Niagara Falls in all its wintertime majesty will make this superstar visit feel like an absolute touchdown. In essence, the magic of Niagara could become her very own enchanted Love Story with Buffalo's frosted cityscape as the stunning backdrop.

The definition of a game-wrecker on offense.” His colleague Jim Nantz commented on Allen’s capabilities, stating that he's often likened to 'Big Ben' (Roethlisberger) due to his size and tenacity, yet he's able to outpace any other player of similar size when rushing the ball. The Bills, led by Allen who accounted for four total touchdowns (three passing and one rushing), will meet the Chiefs in the AFC Divisional round on Sunday.

- Injury Bug Bites Buffalo Bills: Johnson, Martin, Spector, Bernard, Benford
During a recent game, several key players from the Buffalo Bills team were injured including cornerback Taron Johnson, who was the team's only All-Pro selection for the season, punter Sam Martin, linebackers Baylon Spector and Terrel Bernard, and cornerback Christian Benford. Two players, receiver Gabe Davis and safety Taylor Rapp, missed the Steelers game entirely due to injuries. Taron Johnson has since been confirmed to be in the concussion protocol and his condition is being monitored daily, like all the other injured players. As for Bernard, he is being taken care of one day at a time after X-rays didn't reveal any fractures. The Bills are scheduled to play against the Chiefs on Sunday at Highmark Stadium.
- Buffalo Bills Cut Leonard Fournette from Practice Squad
The Buffalo Bills have released veteran running back Leonard Fournette from their practice squad, according to ESPN's Field Yates. Fournette joined the team on October 30th and his addition was aimed at bolstering depth behind running backs James Cook and Latavius Murray. Bills coach Sean McDermott, who didn't disclose the reasons behind Fournette's release, appreciated the player's contribution and wished him well. Fournette's hopes for a second Super Bowl ring, following his previous win with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, now appear squashed as the Bills continue their playoff campaign without him.
- A Way Too Early Look at the Weather Forecast for Bills - Chiefs
As you can imagine, weather in Western New York is almost impossible to predict. Six days away from kickoff before the Buffalo Bills take on the Kansas City Chiefs, here is the projected forecast. The temperature is expected to hover between 12-15 degrees throughout the contest with winds of 5-10MPH. There is a small chance of snow (15-20%) currently, but you know how that goes in Buffalo.
- The Troublesome Ties Between Niagara Falls, USA and the Mob
While the awe-inspiring beauty of Niagara Falls is renowned globally, its vibrant and often murky history woven intricately with the Mob is relatively less acknowledged. Known to some as the quintessential hub of power struggles, notorious figures, and hushed whispers of clandestine operations, Niagara Falls USA has a rather thrilling past filled with elements of the Mob world that add another layer to the tourist city's narrative. In the early 1900s, Niagara Falls' rapid growth as a tourism hot spot caught the eyes of notorious Mob syndicates looking to tap into the flourishing industries. Its location on the US-Canadian border provided an easy means to engage in smuggling, racketeering, and other forms of organized crime. The region soon became a critical point for various illegal activities such as bootlegging during the Prohibition era and for gambling, which was considered as 'prohibition in reverse' since it was illegal in the USA but not in Canada. Notable figures of the underworld left their mark here, as was the case with Stefano Magaddino, a leading member of the American Mafia and Boss of the Buffalo Crime Family. Known as 'The Undertaker', Magaddino took advantage of the location for the trafficking of drugs and illegal goods across the border using a series of tunnels under businesses to do so. Much of this legend, remains unseen and shrouded in mystery. Furthermore, Frank Costello, one of America’s most powerful gangsters, often vacationed in Niagara Falls demonstrating the magnetic pull the location had on Mob figures. Infamously, he ran an illegal gambling network which covered Niagara Falls. Fast forward to the present day, the grip of the Mob on Niagara Falls may have lessened but the whispers of its association continue to resonate. Walking through the streets, a sense of mystique prevails as reminders of the city’s mob-affiliated past lurk around every corner; in alleyways, speakeasies, and storied hotels. Even though Niagara Falls’ splendid views remain its biggest attraction, the city's storied past involving the Mob adds a hint of fascination to every visitor's journey. The streets echo tales of clandestine tunnels, illegal trades, notorious figures and much more, enhancing the allure of the awe-inspiring wonder that is Niagara Falls. Exploring Niagara Falls isn't just about marveling at the incredible power of Mother Nature, but also stepping back in time to an era when organized crime operated in the shadows weaving a fabric of intriguing stories and startling incidents. So the next time you visit, take a moment to peer beyond the water’s breathtaking plunge and soak in the layers of riveting history etched into the very soul of this unique place.
- Small Acts of Kindness, Big Impact: Josh Allen Supports Child Battling Cancer
Throughout his fight against cancer, young Chase Collins has felt the unwavering support of a player from the Buffalo Bills - QB Josh Allen. 10-year-old Chase was diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia in November 2022 and endured a 45-day stay at UPMC Children's Hospital. His cancer treatments were marked with moments of elation, largely due to external support. To have individuals so generous as to provide brief, joyful moments or invest time into actions that distract him from the harsh realities of his condition, even if it's only for a few minutes, is invaluable, expressed Brian Collins, Chase's father. Currently, Chase is in remission and is under constant care to ensure it stays that way.He takes oral chemotherapy every day, attends appointments roughly once a month and undergoes a procedure every three months. As Chase continues to display resilience, he received a moment he will never forget. Chase and his dad had the opportunity to attend a Bills game. Chase's most memorable moments were being in the suite and, of course, interacting with Allen who was wearing his support bracelet. A little kindness can go a long way.

- BUNDLE UP: Bills v. Steelers will be Snowless, but Windy and Bitter Cold
The Buffalo Bills vs Pittsburgh Steelers game was rescheduled from Sunday after a heavy band of lake effect snow that resulted in a travel ban across the region. Although the snow will be gone for the rescheduled game, weather will still be a factor. According to forecasts, the temperature is expected to be 16 degrees at kickoff with estimated winds of 10MPH. The math is simple - it will feel like 6 degrees outside. The temperature is expected to hover around 15-16 degrees throughout the game, but that will not change the fact that wind will make it bitter cold.
- USA-Canada Border Faces Increase in Illegal Crossings: Reports Border Patrol
Reports from federal border patrol officials suggest an increase in illegal entries into the USA from Canada via the Niagara River. Brady Waikel, head of patrol at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection station in Niagara Falls, has spent his entire 24 year career with CBP. Working stints at both the southern and northern borders, Waikel noted that the security challenge is different in both places with the most notable difference being volume. But that doesn't mean people are not crossing from Canada. The assumption their attempt across the Niagara River would be successful might be the only motivation. "From around November, there has been a discernible surge in instances of individuals attempting to cross in small rafts and vessels," Waikel told Channel 7 WBKW News (find link to full story HERE). In most instances, according to Waikel, these are cases of human trafficking.
- Winter is Finally Here! 1-2 Feet of Snow, Crazy High Winds Expected in WNY
The weekend is set to be snowy in many parts of the region, with a lake-effect snowstorm expected to kick in on Saturday night, potentially resulting in between 1 to 2 feet of snow in WNY. Alongside the snow, intense winds are also forecasted throughout the weekend, peaking on Saturday afternoon. This is mainly due to the shifting of the lake-effect bands from north to south around three or four times, expanding the area impacted by heavy snow, according to Jon Hitchcock from the National Weather Service. A warning for the winter storm is in effect from 10 a.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Monday for several counties, including Erie, Genesee and Wyoming, with Niagara and Orleans counties under warning until 3 p.m. Sunday. High wind warnings also began at 4 p.m. for certain regions, including southern Erie and Allegany counties. Winds of up to 60 mph are expected in these areas. Similarly, other counties, including northern Erie and Niagara, are set to experience wind speeds of 50 mph starting 7 p.m., with these warnings set to end by 4 a.m. on Sunday. Power outages are anticipated as the winds could knock down trees and power lines. High-profile vehicles may face travel difficulties, according to the weather service.
- Justice Department Pursuing Death Penalty in Buffalo Racist Mass Shooting
The Department of Justice has declared its intention to push for the death penalty of the individual responsible for the racist mass murder at a Buffalo Tops supermarket, should he be convicted of federal charges. This tragedy resulted in the deaths of 10 African American individuals. Prosecutors discussed Attorney General Merrick Garland's stance with family members of the victims in a confidential gathering at the Buffalo federal courthouse on Friday. Gendron, in documents preceding the May 14, 2022 attack, acknowledged that he selected the Tops Market on Jefferson Avenue as the target due to its location in an area predominantly inhabited by Black citizens. His objective was to kill as many Black individuals as he could. To execute his act of terror, he traveled over 200 miles from his family home in Conklin, NY armed with a semi-automatic firearm and a helmet-attached camera that he used to broadcast the brutal act. Apart from the ten deaths, Gendron injured three more people inside the supermarket. Prosecutors highlighted a number of exacerbating elements in their intent to push for the death penalty, among them was Gendron's racist motives for the murders, underlining his explicit bias and detestation towards Black people. Other noted factors included: the execution and attempted execution of multiple people; targeting victims especially vulnerable due to age and weakness; comprehensive planning and forethought; posing significant death threats to others; provoking violent responses from others through his violent actions; and strategically choosing the Tops supermarket in the East Side to amplify the count of Black casualties.
- Fake News Swirls: No Change to Venue for Bills v. Steelers Playoff Game
The forthcoming Wild Card playoff game between the Buffalo Bills and the Pittsburgh Steelers at Highmark Stadium is anticipated to be played in heavy snow, leading to a buzz about a potential location change. Rumors concerning the weather altering the game's location ran rampant on Thursday. CBS NFL insider Jonathan Jones verified through multiple league sources that the location change was fake news. Jones tweeted, "The claims of relocating the Steelers-Bills wild-card playoff game to Cleveland due to Western New York's weather issues are unfounded, according to multiple sources I've spoken to." It is projected that about 70% of the Buffalo area will be covered in snow on Sunday, with temperatures around 25 degrees and winds of 10-25 MPH. Consequently, social media was rife with conjecture that the game could be moved to Cleveland to avoid excessively harsh weather. An online piece from the Daily Mail speculated that extreme weather could lead to a state of emergency in Western New York, mirroring a situation last season when the Bills played the Cleveland Browns at Ford Field in Detroit last year. High-profile league sources picked up on the rumors swiftly and quashed them. As planned, the Bills and Steelers will start the game from Highmark Stadium on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
- Buffalo Bills' Josh Allen Stars in Hilarious Paramount+ Ad
Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen will showcase his acting skills during the team's upcoming playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, broadcast by CBS. Allen is featured in a Paramount+ commercial alongside CBS' top broadcasting trio of Jim Nantz, Tony Romo, and Tracy Wolfson. Romo agrees with Nantz’s evaluation. Meanwhile, Wolfson stands by Dora the Explorer and shares that the arm of Scourge, a villain from Transformers voiced by Peter Dinklage, who has frozen. Allen shows Scourge how to loosen his arm. When Scourge subsequently fires his cannon at a mountain, he gets an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty from a referee. Allen continues his role as Paramount+ spokesperson, having been part of the streaming service's advertisement campaign earlier this season. A follow-up Paramount+ ad is set to broadcast during the Super Bowl, airing on February 11th.

- Buffalo Bills Fan's Tragic Death Sparks More than $90K in Donations
In the wake of a tragedy, a GoFundMe campaign established for the victim has amassed more than $91,000 in donations. The campaign was set up following the unfortunate and unnecessary death of Dylan Isaacs, a dedicated Buffalo Bills fan who passed away after the team's win against the Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Sunday night. Isaacs was in Miami enjoying the company of close friends for the game. According to Miami authorities, an altercation ignited outside the stadium between Isaacs, his companions, and the perpetrator. The conflict escalated, prompting the unidentified individual to alight from their car and discharge numerous shots at Isaacs, leading to his tragic death at the scene, which was confirmed around midnight. Dylan was struck by a car and thrown off his feet, according to his grieving mother Susan. He stood up and attempted to chase after the vehicle when the driver fired at him. Dylan's mother depicted Dylan as a fervent basketball player, a diehard Bills fan, but above all a person who derived great pleasure from making his family laugh. Miami Crime Stoppers is offering a monetary incentive of up to $5,000 for any details that might assist in the apprehension of the shooter involved in the incident. The public is urged to call 305-471-8477 if they have any information. He is still at-large. - Allen's Dominance Continues: Breaks Record for Most 300/50 Games
Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen etched his name deeper into the annals of NFL history after the team's 21-14 win against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday night. Allen achieved his ninth career game with at least 300 passing yards and 50 rushing yards, a record-breaking accomplishment for an NFL quarterback. Previously, Allen and the iconic Steve Young were tied at eight games for the record. Against Miami, Allen's impressive stats included 359 passing yards and 67 rushing yards. Allen didn't stop there. He also had at least two touchdowns in 16 consecutive games, which ties the second-longest streak of this kind NFL history. Throughout this season, Allen's 44 total touchdowns (comprising 29 passing and 15 rushing) was the most of all quarterbacks in the NFL. Dak Prescott of the Dallas team trailed with 38. This was the second-highest season total for Allen, with his highest being 45 in 2020 and 42 in both 2021 and 2022.
